Dementia – Prevention and Care: Wednesday 17th January 2018
2018 starts with the challenging topic of Dementia. You are likely to know someone suffering from this common syndrome associated with an ongoing decline of brain functioning.
According to the Alzheimer’s Society there are around 850,000 people in the UK with dementia – a condition that affects 1 in 6 people over 80. The number of people with dementia is iestimated to reach 1 million by 2025.

Dr Ben Hicks, psychologist and researcher with Bournemouth University Dementia Institute (BUDI), has over ten years research experience within the field of health and well-being.
Kerry Mason is Christchurch Business Manager of MyLife Living Assistance and has been involved in the care sector for over 14 years. Kerry is also a Dementia Friends Champion. Read more about our experts here.
This two-hour event will cover the following important areas:
– What is dementia and how is it diagnosed
– How to support someone with dementia
– Will there be a cure?
There will be an opportunity to ask your questions directly to the panel and to talk to them individually afterwards. You are welcome to attend the seminar with family members.
