Happy New year to you and thank you for joining me in 2023.

Let’s start the New Year on a high note, by dispelling some of the more common held beliefs about how awful it is getting older.

I feel that many people make assumptions about ageing and what it’s like to grow “old”, or how older age will affect them. The reality is that we won’t know until it happens to us, but some of our assumptions are probably true.

But so many of our beliefs come from socially accepted myths, and if you take the time to challenge them, you’ll realise that, for the most part, they’re simply not true. There’s no evidence.

It’s all too easy to pass by the positive aspects of ageing – of which I understand there are many. In this New Year episode Kathy will help me to bust 10 common misconceptions or beliefs related to ageing and older people.
