Finding and Funding Care in Later Life: 12th May 2017
On Friday 12th May, The Retirement Café launched with its first free event on the topic of care at the Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch.
Justin King was joined by an expert in retirement financial solutions, manager of a local care home and manager of an in-home care agency to discuss your questions about finding and funding care in later life. Over a dozen guests enjoyed fresh coffee and home-made cake during a two hour question and answer session with the panel.
Graham Duffy, Care Specialist at Just, one of the leading providers of retirement solutions shared his 25 years’ experience of care annuities and options for funding care, providing advice based upon real life case studies. His knowledge was particularly useful when it came to guests’ questions about their specific circumstances.
Our two guests who have worked for many years in the care profession; Debi Phelan-Bainbridge who is currently manager of Ocean Breeze Residential Care Home in Barton on Sea and Kerry Mason who is Manager of MyLife Living Assistance – a leading provider of in-home care, talked about the realities of providing a service to families who need care today.
